Careers:
RICHMOND CHAMBERS

Richmond Chambers is a specialist, barrister-led immigration law firm based in the heart of Covent Garden, London.

We combine the independence, expertise and professional standards of the Bar with the infrastructure, client service, support and benefits package of a modern boutique law firm.

Our team includes specialist immigration barristers, legal associates and business professionals, all working together to provide high-quality immigration advice and representation to private individuals, families and businesses.

We are a multi-award-winning practice with a distinctive model. Our barristers retain meaningful professional independence while benefiting from excellent client work, legal and administrative support, flexible working, financial security and the opportunity to develop a specialist immigration practice within a collaborative team.

Whether you are a practising immigration barrister considering a different way to practise, an aspiring barrister looking for experience, a legal associate developing your career, or a business services professional interested in joining a specialist legal practice, Richmond Chambers offers high-quality work and a supportive working environment.

Our Work

Richmond Chambers specialises exclusively in UK immigration, asylum and nationality law.

We advise and represent clients across the full range of personal and business immigration matters, including family migration, work and business routes, sponsor licensing, sponsor compliance, the EU Settlement Scheme, student and graduate routes, settlement, nationality and citizenship, asylum and human rights, appeals, administrative review and judicial review.

Our clients include private individuals, families, entrepreneurs, investors, employers and corporate clients, both in the UK and overseas.

Direct access work is central to our practice. We often become involved at an early stage, helping clients understand their options, identify legal issues, prepare strong applications and pursue effective appeal or litigation strategies where required.

A Different Model for Barristers

Richmond Chambers offers a distinctive alternative to traditional chambers.

Our barristers exercise independent professional judgment and have meaningful control over the direction of their practice, while benefiting from the support and infrastructure of an established specialist immigration law firm.

We operate without clerks. New enquiries are made available through an online portal, allowing barristers to select suitable work that matches their expertise, interests, competence, availability and capacity.

Barristers are supported by experienced legal associates and professional administrators. This allows them to focus on legal analysis, client strategy, drafting, advocacy and outcomes, while benefiting from structured client-care, administrative and casework support.

Our model is designed to ensure that work is planned properly, fees are agreed in advance and last-minute briefs are avoided wherever possible.

Our Culture

Our working culture is inclusive, collaborative and supportive.

We are a specialist team, and we work closely together. Barristers, legal associates and professional staff all play an important role in delivering excellent client service and high-quality legal work.

We value clear communication, sound judgment, mutual respect and shared responsibility. We want our people to feel supported, trusted and able to develop professionally.

Richmond Chambers combines the traditions and standards of the Bar with a modern, team-based approach to legal practice.

Training and Career Development

We believe that training and professional development are essential to the long-term success of our people and our practice.

Our barristers and legal associates benefit from exposure to a wide range of immigration, asylum and nationality matters, as well as opportunities to develop specialist expertise.

We support development through supervision, collaboration, formal training, access to legal resources and opportunities to work on challenging and high-profile cases.

For aspiring barristers, our mini-pupillage scheme provides insight into the work of immigration barristers and life at Richmond Chambers.

Rewards and Benefits

We recognise the contribution our people make to the success of Richmond Chambers and reward them through a comprehensive package of financial, professional, lifestyle and wellbeing benefits.

Barristers at Richmond Chambers benefit from a guaranteed salary, bonus payments linked to receipts, no chambers rent, no aged debt, paid holiday, flexible working, generous maternity leave (including 6 months’ full pay), private medical insurance, pension contributions, professional subscriptions, legal associate support and experienced administrative support.

Our model is designed to provide financial security, flexibility and professional support while preserving the independence and professional standards of the Bar.

Flexible and Modern Working

Our barristers and staff are supported by secure cloud-based systems, video-conferencing technology, modern IT equipment and digital case-management tools.

We embrace innovation where it improves the quality of our work, strengthens client service and supports a more sustainable way to practise.
