    Zarina has a busy practice covering all aspects of immigration for individuals and their family members. She has expertise on a broad range of immigration applications and appeals including cases involving family migration under Appendix FM, the EU settlement scheme and EEA free movement, visitors,  settlement and nationality. Zarina also has expertise in assisting clients with complex human rights and asylum claims.

    Zarina has prepared numerous high quality applications for spouses, fiancés, unmarried partners, children and adult dependants. She has an excellent track record with cases involving complex immigration histories, previous refusals, allegations of ‘sham’ marriage, and allegations of deception. Zarina frequently assists vulnerable individuals, such as victims of domestic violence, victims of trafficking and people with complex health problems.

    Zarina has a particular interest in challenging unlawful Home Office decisions by appeal or Judicial Review and she regularly represents clients before the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (IAC). She accepts instructions from solicitors, OISC representatives, and individuals on a direct access basis.

    Zarina previously worked in the immigration department of a Legal 500 top tier law firm. During her studies, she volunteered at a Law Centre where she provided pro bono representation at bail hearings, securing the release of clients from immigration detention.
  • International Experience:

    Before joining Richmond Chambers, Zarina was a legal assistant at the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) in Brussels where she provided assistance to lawyers across Europe, and was involved with strategic litigation before the ECtHR and CJEU. In addition, Zarina conducted legal research for ECRE on family reunion and Dublin third country litigation. She has also completed an internship with the Legal Protection team at UNHCR in London.
