Practice:
Max works on a range of personal immigration cases at Richmond Chambers, including matters relating to acquisition and registration of British citizenship; applications under Appendix FM of the immigration rules, including spouse, fiancé(e), and unmarried partner visas; and applications for leave to remain in the UK on the basis of the right to private and family life.

Experience:
Before joining Richmond Chambers, Max worked as a judicial assistant to the Court of Appeal in Ireland where he assisted on a number of appeals against conviction and severity of sentence, judicial reviews of sentence on grounds of undue leniency, and miscarriage of justice applications pursuant to the Criminal Procedure Act 1993. He previously worked as a paralegal in a corporate law firm in Ireland where he assisted on a number of corporate transactions including: mergers and acquisitions, investment and capital raising, corporate governance and compliance, and commercial contracts.
Max was employed by LSE Law School as a moot court coach while studying for his master’s degree. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as a legal researcher for Compliance and Risks, a legal technology company providing product compliance solutions. Additionally, Max has published research focusing on equality law and human rights issues in the University of Galway Law Review, and Cork Online Law Review. His most-recent publication was awarded the P O’Connor & Son, Mayo Prize for Outstanding Submission, University of Galway Law Review 2025.
