    In her second six, Ellen is supervised by Alexandra Pease and works across a range of personal immigration matters including applications and appeals in cases involving human rights, asylum and Appendix EU matters, as well as applications for immigration bail and Judicial Reviews of refusal decisions. She has also worked on applications and appeals under Appendix FM for partner and adult dependent relative visas.

    In her first six, Ellen worked across a range of business immigration matters, including Global Talent, sponsor licensing and compliance, and Skilled Worker applications. She also gained experience with applications for settlement, including indefinite leave to remain and obtaining British citizenship through registration and naturalisation.

  • Experience:
    Prior to pupillage, Ellen was an immigration paralegal at a law centre, where she worked on asylum applications and appeals – often with a history of multiple previous refusals – and on Judicial Reviews of certification decisions. She also volunteered with Legal Centre Lesvos in Greece, where alongside preparing applications and appeals she worked on submissions to the European Court of Human Rights and advocacy reports on human rights violations.
    Ellen previously worked as a youth advocate at a legal charity, supporting young people facing immigration, homelessness, social care, and criminal justice challenges, and as a paralegal at a public inquiry.
    Ellen is a member of the Executive Committee of the Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers and the Bureau of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers.
