Before joining Richmond Chambers, Aarya volunteered for an immigration legal aid clinic for foreign nationals at HMP Huntercombe who were facing deportation without legal representation. Prior to this, she was a Casework Volunteer for Advocate, the pro bono unit of the Bar, where she prepared cases for marginalised individuals.
Aarya has also worked on several research projects, including for the International Service for Human Rights, the Centre for Reproductive Rights, and the Oxford Pro Bono Unit. She has spent several summers volunteering at a school for tribal children in India, teaching
English and maths.
