Genuine Entrepreneur test introduced to tighten up UK immigration rules.
The UKBA has introduced a ‘genuine entrepreneur’ test to ensure only those with the intention and ability to start a viable business are able to use the Entrepreneur immigration route.
Introduced earlier this year, the test involves being interviewed by a caseworker who is tasked with ensuring applicants are credible. This is part of a tightening of the immigration rules across the board and is designed to prevent abuse of the system.
The changes apply to applicants who want to join, take over or establish a business in the UK. The test is designed to establish the credibility of the applicant’s ability to start a business, as well as ensuring they have the means at their disposal to do so.
If the UK Border Agency has concerns regarding an application, they may invite an applicant for an interview. Preparing for the genuine entrepreneur test interview is of vital importance – the UKBA caseworker can ask a wide range of questions and will be looking to test the applicant on their finances and business plans. Arranging an entrepreneur test preparation session allows you to equip yourself for the test and identify any weak areas in your preparation. Our immigration barristers will give constructive feedback on your application and offer advice and tips on how to best approach the test.
