What the Latest Statistics Tell Us about Entrepreneur and Investor Applications
So far in the year 2014 there have been 703 successful Investor applications and 832 successful Entrepreneur applications.
This chart shows the number of investor applications per quarter since January 2013. While the most recent quarter shows a small decrease in the number of successful investor applications, the overall trend shows a significant increase in successful applications since this time last year.
The next two statistical releases for investors will be interesting given that the investment funds requirement doubled in November 2014 from £1 million to £2 million.
This chart shows the number of successful Entrepreneur applications since January 2013. The trend shows a slight decrease in the number of successful applications since January 2013.
This tables shows the number of successful investor and Entrepreneur applications. While in early 2013 there were many more successful entrepreneur applications in comparison to investors, by September 2014 there were similar numbers of successful investors and entrepreneurs.
This chart shows the countries where most investors have applied from in the most recent statistics. All counties listed in the above chart have at least three successful investors. Over 50% of successful applicants originate in China, and almost 20% from Russia.
The above chart shows the countries where successful Entrepreneur applications have been made in the most recent quarter. Again, this shows all countries with three or more successful applicants. While the majority of successful investor applicants are Chinese, China have comparatively fewer successful entrepreneurs, while Pakistan leads the way with Entrepreneurs in the last quarter, there were only two successful investor applicants from Pakistan.

The latest quarter shows that 89% of Investors have been successful in their applications. While only 55% of entrepreneurs are successful.
Statistics are not available to show any variation in success rates across different application centres. We also do not currently have statistics on the number of entrepreneurs who are invited for interview and what the refusal rate after interview is.
These statistics show an interesting trend entrepreneurs and investors, but it will be interesting to see how both categories are affected by the significant changes to the Investor rules which came into force on 6 November 2014.
