UK becoming a favourite destination for professionals
A recent report has found that the UK is viewed by professionals as one of the most attractive countries in the world to relocate to, second only to the United States.
The Global Professionals on the Move 2013 study, which was carried out on behalf of global recruitment firm Hydrogen, also found that the UK is particularly popular as a destination for foreign technology workers.
In addition, the UK came second in the choice of destinations for highly qualified professionals in the fields of law and life sciences.
“The US is still the dominant force, but the UK is definitely on the march,” commented Dan Fox, Managing Director of Technology practice at Hydrogen.
“The States has Silicon Valley and San Francisco, the UK has Silicon Roundabout near Old Street, where you’ve got all these exciting tech firms opening. A lot of Europeans view the UK as a tech hub where you can work for exciting fast-paced companies. We’re seeing a lot of Europeans coming to work in the UK. It’s all about wanting to work for the up-and-coming companies,” he added.
