PREMIUM SAME-DAY SERVICE
UK Visas and Immigration’s Premium Same-Day Service allows certain individuals who are applying to extend their stay or settle in the UK to receive a decision on their application within 24 hours.
About the Premium Same-Day Service
The Premium Same-Day Service can be used by a wide range of persons applying to extend their stay or settle in the UK.
You will need to attend an appointment in-person at a Premium Service Centre located in either Belfast, Cardiff, Croydon, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Sheffield or Solihull.
At the appointment you will provide your biometric information (fingerprints and photographs) and hand in your completed application.
You should normally receive a decision on the same day. However, decisions can be delayed if the Home Office needs to make further enquiries, for example if you have a complex immigration history.
The Home Office charges a fee of £590 to apply via the Premium Same-Day Service, in addition to the standard application fee.
Premium Service appointments can be booked up to 45 days in advance. If you are applying for settlement then your appointment must be at least 48 hours after your Life in the UK test and within 28 days of completing your qualifying period.
It is possible to to transfer certain standard postal route applications to Premium Service applications.
Certain applications cannot be made via the Premium Service. For example, you cannot use the Premium Service if you are applying for an extension of stay or settlement as a Tier 1 Investor or Tier 1 Entrepreneur. However, Tier 1 Investor applicants can apply via the Super Premium Same-Day Service and Tier 1 Entrepreneur applicants may be permitted to do so.
What else do I need to know about the Premium Same-Day Service?
You will receive your passport back on the day of the Premium Service appointment. However, it will take 7-10 days for your new Biometric Residence Permit to be produced. You can travel without this, but you will need your BRP to re-enter the UK.
Certain individuals are required to register with the police after being granted further leave to remain. If this applies to you, you will need to register with the police within 7 days of receiving your new BRP.
If you wish to reschedule your Premium Same-Day Service appointment, you should do so at least 48 hours before the day of the appointment.
If you wish to cancel your Premium Same-Day Service appointment, you should do so at least 5 working days before the date of the appointment in order to receive a full refund.
If you apply via the Premium Same-Day Service and your application is refused while you still have leave to remain, your leave will not automatically be extended during any subsequent appeal proceedings.
How our immigration barristers can help
You will need to book your Premium Same-Day Service appointment yourself, via an online booking form. Legal representatives are not permitted to book Premium Service appointments on behalf of clients.
However, our barristers can assist you to ensure that your application is professionally presented, technically correct and ready for submission on time. We can arrange for one of our legal associates, who is familiar with your case, to accompany you to the Premium Service Centre, assist you with registering, provide assistance with enrolling your biometrics and liaise with the immigration officer, caseworker and, if required, your barrister on your behalf.
We pride ourselves on being approachable and proactive in understanding and meeting our clients’ needs. We are a highly driven team, dedicated to providing clear and reliable immigration advice as part of a professional and friendly service.
WE CAN ALSO ASSIST WITH
Super Premium Same-Day Service
UK Visas and Immigration’s Super Premium Service allows individuals who are applying to extend their stay or settle in the UK as a Tier 1 Investor to receive a decision on their application within 24 hours.
The Super Premium Service can be used by individuals applying in categories other than the Tier 1 Investor category.
If you are applying for an extension of stay or settlement as a Tier 1 Entrepreneur and require a decision within 24 hours then you may be able to apply via the Super Premium Service, but you will need to obtain the consent of the Home Office first.
Fresh applications, Administrative reviews and Judicial reviews
If your application for leave to remain or settlement has been refused, our immigration barristers can advise on the merits of making a fresh application or challenging the decision.
If the decision-maker failed to apply the Immigration Rules or Home Office policy correctly, we can bring Administrative Review proceedings to challenge the decision.
If the decision to refuse your application was unlawful, unreasonable or procedurally improper, our immigration barristers can apply for Judicial Review and provide representation at Judicial Review hearings.
