  • Practice:

    Since joining Richmond Chambers, Marianne has assisted our barristers with a variety of personal immigration matters. She has recently worked on applications for entry clearance as a partner, entry clearance as an adult dependent relative, and for indefinite leave to remain as a victim of domestic abuse, as well as an appeal for asylum and humanitarian protection.

  • Experience:

    Marianne spent over a year volunteering as a caseworker and researcher at The Unity Project, where she worked on applications to challenge the ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ status of people granted leave to remain on human rights grounds. She also acted as a representative for The School Exclusion Project, providing free representation to parents of children permanently excluded from school at Governors’ Disciplinary Committee and Independent Review Panel hearings across the country in cases involving SEN. Marianne has also volunteered as a translator for Safe Passage UK, a charity that helps unaccompanied children and vulnerable adults find safe and legal routes to asylum. Before beginning her legal studies, Marianne trained as a classical pianist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
